It’s finally here – my vacation! My luggage is packed (not quite as light as I was aiming for but eh…), my itinerary is finalized and I am ready to go. Where to? Only some of the finest foodie destinations in Italy (yay!).
Riomaggiore, the most southern of the five towns that make up Cinque Terre.
Since I don’t yet have pictures to share with you, I thought I would share relevant posts from my fellow WordPress bloggers.
- Bologna “La Grassa”, nicknamed for its over-the-top food culture. Check out the blog Dakota D. Journal for a sneak preview of the city’s culinary offerings.
- Cinque Terre, which isn’t so much a foodie destination but who can resist the scenery? Visit the Janette Larobina Photography blog for some great shots of the five towns.
- The Tuscan countryside – mainly the area around San Gimignano. Beautiful pictures on the flickr account of Matrioska’s Adventures.
- And Florence… Eh, you don’t need picture of Florence – you know what it looks like! And I need to get back to finalizing my carry-on (did I say I was packed? One more pair of shoes I need to fit somewhere…)
Oh yes, and did I mention we were kick starting this awesome trip with a 4-day pit stop in Croatia? We’ll be visiting Dubrovnik, where streets of the Old Town are paved in marble; Hvar, boasting Croatia’s swankiest summer nightlife; and Split, the country’s second largest city.
Although this does mean B&M will be taking a break until July 25th or so, it also means I’ll be coming back with a ton of foodie finds, tips, tricks, recipes and pictures to share with you.
